It
should be noted, by using Electrotechnologies like electric infrared
drying ovens, various hydrocarbons such as NOx (Nitrogen
Oxide), CO (Carbon Monoxide) and COČ (Carbon Dioxide), which are
produced by gas or oil fired hot air drying ovens can be eliminated.
In many states, hydrocarbons are not exempt. In fact, some states are implementing new regulations requiring
permits for new fossil fueled, i.e., gas dryers, where the emissions
of the plant must be reduced by the amount to be increased by the
new equipment. In other words, if you plan to add hydrocarbons
into the atmosphere, you will have to get rid of other equipment
producing equal amounts of VOC's.
With increased attention being paid to the EPA and the nation's
concern about air pollution, there is a greater demand for the knowledge
and experience that DRI offers to dry waterbase inks and coatings.
Infrared drying offers the drying speeds typically associated with
solvent technology - with the safety of waterbase adhesives, inks
